In view of the recent cases of Avian Influenza (H7N9 virus) in mainland China, The National Health and Family Planning Commission announced on 23 April 2013 that a total of 108 H7N9 cases have been reported including 22 that have ended in death. The latest case has been confirmed in Shandong while the others in Shanghai, Anhui, Zhejiang, Henan, Beijing and Jiangsu.
